Uneven Exchange

Sitting in the dark
I listen intently
To the voice I'd forgotten
Long ago.

He's unraveling
The tangled mess of me:
Working to displace my voice
With His own.

He picks me back up
And turns my face around
Showing me the avenue
To follow.

He needs me to go
And try again at life
Without leaving Him behind
Unheeded
Forgotten
In the dark
And outgrown.

  3. Wow, Crystal your poem could be my own story...He needs me to go and try again at life without leaving Him behind is my daily story.

  4. "to displace my voice with His own"
I want that, too! Him increasing, me decreasing...

  5. Hi! I just came over from RAP to partake of your offering.

i really like the shape of this poem it reminds me of a north fork pine tree - these words remained with me:

    "He's unraveling
    The tangled mess of me"
